What We Do
A cold shower on a humid Bali morning is no fun, and most of the time the cause is one of a handful of faults we see every week: a burnt-out heating element, a failed thermostat, a leaking tank or fitting, or a wiring problem tripping the breaker. We diagnose the real fault on arrival — not guess — and we carry the common replacement parts in the van so the great majority of repairs are finished on the first visit. If a unit genuinely is past saving (a corroded, leaking tank usually is), we tell you straight and quote a fair replacement rather than charging you for a repair that won't hold.
We work on all the brands sold in Bali — Ariston, Wika, Rheem, Daalderop, Paloma, Rinnai, Electrolux and others — and we know the typical fault points on each. Message us in the morning with your area and what's happening, and we'll usually confirm same-day availability within 30 minutes.
Faults We Fix
- No hot water at all — usually a failed element or thermostat; both are stocked and quick to replace.
- Heater trips the breaker — almost always an earth fault from a degraded element or wet, corroded terminals.
- Leaking unit or pipework — we trace the source; a leaking fitting is an easy fix, a leaking tank means replacement.
- Water not hot enough or takes forever — scaled element, wrong thermostat setting, or an undersized unit for the demand.
- Pressure-relief valve dripping — a common and cheap fix that people often ignore until it floods.
- Noisy tank — rumbling and popping is scale on the element; we descale or replace it.
How We Diagnose and Repair — Step by Step
- 1. Listen. Over WhatsApp we ask the right questions — often we can name the likely fault before we arrive, which saves you time and money.
- 2. Isolate and test. On site we safely isolate the unit and test the element, thermostat, wiring and valves to find the real cause.
- 3. Quote. We tell you what's wrong, whether repair or replacement makes sense, and the price — before doing any work.
- 4. Fix. With your go-ahead we replace the faulty part from van stock and re-make any doubtful connection properly.
- 5. Test. We run a full heating cycle, check for leaks and confirm it holds temperature before we leave.
Why Heaters Fail Early in Bali
Bali is hard on water heaters. The well water is rich in calcium that scales up the heating element, forcing it to run hotter until it cracks — which is why so many units fail at 3–4 years instead of 8–10. The island's humidity corrodes electrical terminals, and PLN voltage fluctuations stress the element over time. When we repair, we don't just swap the failed part: we check for the underlying cause, re-terminate corroded connections and, where it helps, recommend a simple annual flush so you're not paying us again next year.
Pricing
Diagnosis is from IDR 300,000, with parts and labour quoted upfront once we know the fault. Typical jobs: thermostat replacement from IDR 250,000, heating element from IDR 350,000, pressure-relief valve from IDR 200,000. We always quote before we start. See full pricing →
Related Services
If your unit is beyond economical repair, we fit a new electric storage heater or compact instant heater the same day. For lower running costs consider solar, and for larger properties we install full villa hot water systems.

We cover Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, Kuta, Legian, Denpasar, Sanur, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Uluwatu. No travel surcharge. Full service area →
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no hot water from my water heater in Bali?
The three most common causes are a burnt-out heating element, a failed thermostat, or a tripped breaker caused by an earth fault. In Bali, hard-water scale on the element is the usual culprit after a few years. We diagnose on arrival and most often fix it the same visit with parts from the van.
Can you repair a water heater the same day in Bali?
Yes — for the common faults (element, thermostat, relief valve, wiring) we carry the parts and fix it on the first visit. Message us in the morning with your area and the symptoms and we confirm same-day availability within 30 minutes.
Is it worth repairing or should I replace my water heater?
If the tank itself is leaking, replacement is usually the honest answer — a corroded tank can't be sealed reliably. If it's an element, thermostat or wiring fault on an otherwise sound unit, repair is far cheaper. We tell you which makes sense before doing any work.
My water heater trips the breaker — is that dangerous?
A heater tripping the breaker usually means an earth fault, most often from a failed element letting water reach the live parts. The breaker is doing its job, but you should stop using the heater and have it checked. We diagnose and repair these quickly and safely.
