Ubud is different from the coastal areas. The villas here are often spread across jungle and rice-field plots, set back down long driveways, and many run on well water rather than mains — which is harder, more mineral-rich, and far more aggressive on heating elements. We replace scaled elements in Ubud more often than anywhere else, and we always recommend a regular flush here because the local water genuinely shortens heater life. Solar also performs well in Ubud's open hillside positions, and we install a lot of solar-plus-electric systems for villas wanting to cut running costs.
The cooler, wetter Ubud climate around Tegallalang and Mas also means guests really notice when hot water fails, so reliability matters. We're used to the longer drives out to remote Ubud villas and the occasional tricky access, and we come prepared to finish in one visit so we're not making the trip twice.
